Otilia Mutu - Domestic Abuse Advocate, Author & Founder of Lotus Justice

On 13 November, I was officially informed that the jury of the Românii de Excelență din Occident Campaign nominated me for the Romanian Excellence Trophy as part of the 5th edition (2025–2026). This prestigious distinction is awarded by the publication Occidentul Românesc, an initiative dedicated to promoting the values, projects, and contributions of Romanians in the diaspora, including the vital role of independent domestic violence advocates (IDVAs) within the community.

This nomination represents a recognition of the work I have carried out in support of the community and the initiatives I’ve developed over the years, particularly through my involvement with a Romanian-led domestic abuse charity aimed at providing domestic abuse support in the UK. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and for the opportunity to continue this work alongside individuals and institutions dedicated to community development and cohesion.

I extend my thanks to everyone who has believed in these initiatives and who has contributed, directly or indirectly, to my professional and community journey. The award ceremony will take place in Spain in 2026.
