BEYOND FEAR — THE LAUNCH London, 15 November 2025

On 15 November 2025, the official "Beyond Fear" event took place in London, marking the launch of the book of the same name by Otilia Mutu and the public introduction of our project aimed at preventing domestic abuse within the Romanian community in the United Kingdom. 

The event was funded entirely from personal resources and brought together participants from across the country: specialists, survivors of abuse, and representatives of national institutions, including:  

- The Embassy of Romania in London  

- The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova  

- The Association of Romanian Police Officers in the UK  

- The Consulate General of Romania in London  

The aim of the gathering was to create a space of information and support for those affected by domestic abuse. Discussions covered safety procedures, how to access help in the UK, and the community's role in preventing abuse. The multidisciplinary support group created for victims of domestic abuse was presented publicly for the first time.  

Both editions of the book, Dincolo de frică and its English edition, "Beyond Fear", were launched at the event. This book offers guidance on overcoming trauma and rebuilding one's life, informed by Otilia Mutu's own experiences and years of frontline support work. The English edition even received a letter of thanks from the Royal Household after it was submitted to His Majesty King Charles III.

The event included presentations, open discussions, and a space for those who wished to share their personal experiences. It also marked the public launch of our domestic abuse project—an initiative focused on building a network of support, translation, counselling, and access to protection services for Romanians in the UK.  

The atmosphere was calm and centred on safety, with an emphasis on information, solidarity, and support. The presence of institutions and specialists lent the event a professional yet accessible setting for individuals facing situations of risk.
