Otilia Mutu is an author, public speaker and advocate for women affected by domestic abuse, with a particular focus on Romanian-speaking and Roma communities. She brings more than 15 years of experience leading businesses in the UK and internationally. Born and raised in Bucharest, she has lived in the UK since 2016 and speaks openly from her own experience of surviving abuse. She is Initiator and CEO of Lotus Justice & Support Centre CIC, an online organisation supporting Romanian-speaking survivors across all UK local authorities through a network of psychologists, solicitors and trained volunteers. She holds an Ofqual regulated Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Abuse: Prevention and Early Intervention and a Level 5 Diploma in Law. Her book is available in Romanian and English: Dincolo de frică, published in 2025 by Editura Letras, and Beyond Fear, published by Balboa Press UK. She hosts the Dincolo de frică podcast on YouTube and has spoken at over 40 events in the UK and internationally.

Otilia Mutu is an author, public speaker and advocate for women affected by domestic abuse, with a particular focus on the Romanian-speaking and Roma communities in the United Kingdom. Born and raised in Bucharest, she moved to the UK in 2016. She speaks openly about her own years of living with abuse, and about what it took to rebuild her life in a new country. She is Initiator and CEO of Lotus Justice & Support Centre CIC, a fully online organisation that supports Romanian-speaking survivors across all UK local authorities. Lotus offers guidance, referrals and advocacy through a network of psychologists, solicitors and trained volunteers, working in the language survivors feel safe in. Otilia holds an Ofqual regulated Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Abuse: Prevention and Early Intervention, a Level 5 Diploma in Law and a Level 7 Diploma in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, alongside specialist training from IDAS and HM Government. In 2025 she published Dincolo de frică with Editura Letras, and its English edition, Beyond Fear, with Balboa Press UK. The book was launched in London on 15 November 2025 in front of over 440 people. She also hosts the Dincolo de frică podcast on YouTube, where survivors and professionals talk about abuse, survival and starting again. Otilia has spoken at over 40 events in the UK and internationally and has appeared on Antena 3 CNN, Antena Stars and Prima TV. In March 2026 she took part in the 70th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women as a volunteer participant with UN Women UK. She co-hosted two editions of Roma Fest in the UK, contributed to the UK's first Roma Holocaust Memorial in Newcastle, where she is named on the plaque, and volunteers with the Consulate General of Romania in London. She speaks Romanian and English, and works between London and Bucharest.
